Welcome to Fourth Grade at Meadow Wood Elementary. As our students move through the year we see them becoming more independent workers and thinkers. Our students use agendas and binders to help them get organized and remember their homework. The fourth grade schedule is self contained. Each student will have a homeroom class. Students might move to another teacher periodically as the grade level makes needs based groups for reading, writing and/or mathematics.
The boys and girls also enjoy going to music, art, health fitness, library, and the computer lab. Other activities fourth grade is involved in are: cooking in the Math Lab, FOSS kits, Hands on Science, trips to The Taste of Texas, where we learn about Texas history and get a wonderful meal, and Invention Convention.
The students earn "Eagle Tickets" for completing homework, having agendas signed, and good behavior. The Eagle Tickets are used for rewards and participating in the grade level auction. Check your child's orange behavior homework folder for priviledges and prizes they can buy with their tickets. Students also earn marbles for whole class participation and attendance, in order to earn a class reward.
